The Legend

Let me convey to you, as briefly as I am able, the remarkable (true) story of Waiwera Infinity Water.

In 1842 Mr. Robert Graham, a discerning gentleman, arrived in New Zealand whereupon he heard remarkable stories of the little known Waiwera Hot Springs, North of Auckland. The story of a Mr Johnson is typical; "...Johnson had suffered for 16 years from a most painful and distressing skin disease on his ankle, which was pronounced incurable by some of the most eminent men of the medical profession in the mother country, yet, after four weeks’ bathing, and drinking, the mineral waters at Waiwera, he was completely cured."

So impressed was Graham that he set about buying the property at Waiwera, which included some fine cows and every possible fruit you could imagine. By 1875 Graham had turned Waiwera into a prosperous, and indeed famous health spa, for which visitors travelled from all over the country, and some further, to 'take the waters', now widely referred to as "The Elixir of Life."

Around 100 years later, John St Clair Brown, another discerning gentleman, happened upon the same magnificent Waiwera valley where he also learned of the remarkable stories of Messrs Graham and Johnson, and the elixir of life. So compelled was Brown that he too set about buying the property (minus the fine cows and fruit), which he owns to this day.

Passionate about health and longevity, Brown began a quest to develop “the perfect drinking water’” a project that was to take him to all four corners of the globe over ten years and result in the water you see before you, Waiwera Infinity Water; New Zealand’s first and only ionic micro mineral water. Sourced from a natural aquifer over 1500 meters below Waiwera, its reduced hydrogen clusters and a stable pH of 9 give Waiwera Infinity Water a hydration and taste profile that is second to none.

But "the perfect drinking water" requires the perfect vessel and for this Brown had the good sense to turn to inventor, designer and award winning bottle boffin, David Melrose. Upon hearing the stories of Graham, Johnson, and Brown, Melrose began work on what was to become the bottle(s) you now see all around you on this site. His design is based on the original bottle from 1875. Look closely and you will see that it is completely free-form, flowing naturally it is non-concentric and subtly different from every angle giving the impression that it was hand blown using traditional techniques.

And so now the award-winning bottle you will soon hold in your hand, with its remarkable history and impeccable character, is, as my father (also of remarkable history and impeccable character) likes to say, "the perfect drinking water" But you mustn't take his word for it; you must drink it and see for yourself. After all, that is what it’s for...

Kindest Regards,

Fraser St Clair Brown

Throw Physic to the dogs…

December 12th 1875

Dear Sir, - for months I was laid up at the Thames with Rheumatism, contracted from working at the mines. Although not confined to my bed, I was unable to walk without the aid of a stick, and my body was bent nearly double. I may state, that all this time I was under medical treatment, without the slightest benefit. At the suggestion of some friends I was induced to try the Waiwera Hot Springs; I bathed regularly three times a day, and drank freely of the water; and I now find myself, after a fortnight’s residence, quite cured; I am entirely free from ache or pain, and in as good health as ever I was. I am grateful to you, sir, for the benefits I have received, and would strongly recommend others similarly afflicted to throw physic to the dogs, which I have proved to be useless in the case of Rheumatism.
